This project focused on implementing robust cybersecurity measures for UAVs and their Ground Control Stations (GCS). For aerial systems, key actions included secure booting, secure software updates, data wiping, perimeter protection, and deploying security agents. On the GCS side, efforts involved OS hardening, encrypted data storage, user authentication, virus protection, firewall use, VLAN segregation, and removable media management. Communications between UAVs and GCS were fully encrypted, including radio links and secure key loading.
The project also covered a strategic implementation plan, drafting of system and communication tenders with cybersecurity requirements, and oversight of system development within a secure infrastructure framework. Risk assessments and penetration testing were conducted to ensure system resilience and quality.
Dr. Siton has over 30 years of experience in systems engineering, specializing in cross-organizational systems, IT, real-time systems, and C4I. She holds a PhD in Systems Engineering from Tel Aviv University and served as head of the C4I branch in the Israeli Air Force, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. She is a senior consultant and researcher in systems development and digital transformation.
Kaddousi holds a master's in Industrial Engineering and has 20+ years of experience in computing systems development in the Israeli Air Force. He established a cyber defense methodology for weapon systems and developed cyber methodologies for IT and Embedded systems. He is now a senior consultant and information security manager for financial and security organizations.
Ben-David has over 30 years of experience in communication systems, specializing in airborne and ground systems and C4I. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and previously served as the CTO for airborne communications in the Israeli Air Force, leading the tactical network concept.
Has over 30 years of experience in project management, software development, and cyberinfrastructure. He served as the commander of the Cyber Unit in the Israeli Air Force reserves and now leads infrastructure and cyber engineering projects at the company, also working as a senior consultant.
